Mourning Julio Almanza

We Mourn the loss of one of our own, Julio Almanza

On March 3, 2020, we lost Julio Almanza in a tragic accident. Julio wore #5 for TCSA. He was a hard-nosed, tenacious defender, who strikers were happy to avoid especially on 50/50 challenges for the ball. Julio was an on-field leader where he expected all his teammates, whether in training or match day, to rise to his level of intensity.

Julio’s on field qualities were the least of his qualities. Julio was a genuine young man who cared for others. He was a big brother to all his teammates and everyone he knew. Julio instilled a sense of security by being present and everyone knew if there was any type of problems that you would never be in it alone. He took the time to look out for all members of our club and was a gentlemen; Julio would always ensure that the young ladies of our club and even some of the mother’s were safe, especially when we would travel as a club to tournaments. He exuded an environment of security when he was present.

While we at TCSA would like to attribute his demeanor to our influence, Julio’s attitude of commitment and loyalty to his friends was instilled by his family; his older brother Ramon Almanza, who proceeded him in play with TCSA demonstrated these core values as well.

Julio will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and the way he lived his life. We at TCSA pray for peace beyond all understanding for his family, teammates and all who he effected. We will miss you as you watch over us from above.
