TCSA Leaders Meet with Atlanta United to Discuss the Future of Female Soccer in Georgia

TCSA President Fletcher Corbin and Academy Director Amanda Betsill recently traveled to Marietta, Georgia, for a vital roundtable discussion hosted by Atlanta United FC. The meeting, held at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground, focused on the future and expansion of the female youth soccer landscape across the state.

🤝 A Commitment to Growth

The invitation to the meeting stems from Arthur Blank's ongoing commitment to giving back and expanding access to youth sports in Georgia. Recognizing that local club directors are the experts in shaping player and family experiences, Atlanta United sought input on how best to support women and girls in the game.

The purpose of the session, as outlined in the invitation received by TCSA, was one of "listening, learning, and building together." Atlanta United's goal was to better understand what's working well in clubs, identify key challenges, and collaboratively create stronger environments for women and girls in soccer throughout the community.

🎙️ TCSA Provides Invaluable Insight

President Corbin and Director Betsill represented TCSA, sharing their invaluable perspectives and insights as leaders actively involved in the local youth soccer ecosystem. The discussion aimed to strengthen the player pathway for females in soccer, covering topics critical to the sport's development.

🎯 Informing Future Opportunities

The insights gathered from this roundtable discussion will be crucial. They will directly inform fact-finding efforts to support upcoming grant opportunities focused on:

  • Coach education

  • Girls’ soccer programs in schools

These initiatives are designed to directly benefit the local youth soccer community and support the next generation of female players and coaches.
